About the Scholarship
The Charles F. Campbell, Jr. Scholarship was started by the Fourth District Band Directors Association in honor of the late Charles F. Campbell, Jr. Mr. Campbell dedicated his life to the education of young musicians. He taught for 31 years in the state of Kentucky. Many of those years were spent at Hardin County schools, a part of KMEA 4th District. "Chuck" Campbell received numerous awards over the course of his career and was in high demand as a guest conductor for honor bands.
The scholarship is intended to assist aspiring professional musicians reach their goals. One high school senior who plans to pursue music as a career and who was selected as part of the All-District Symphonic Band in KMEA 4th District will recieve the award each year. Winners will be announced at the high school All-District weekend each year.
